I have done cash advances and they are all used up I title pawned my car I am out of options please it is seriously hot down here in Alabama I don't want to be without air and water and gas to heat the water in the water tank. If i could get help with my utilities I can get my phone bill caught up to. I need to get medical insurance but can't until my feet are back on steady ground again. After all that the car was broken into and the deductible is so high that insurance will not pay to fix the car. nothing like being kicked when you are down. any help that can come my way would be appreciated. , oxford, Alabama thank you Susan

Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but my address is Cottondale, and I need help paying my bills. I am on disability and I don't get much but every little bit helps. My husband and I are raising our granddaughter and grandson and they need more than we can afford. We own our small mobile home and it needs to be weatherized also. If you can help just this once maybe we won't need help for a long while. I called Alabama Power myself and they were rude and said they didn't do anything to help poor families. If you could help and make this Christmas happier it would really do my heart good. Thank you for your help,

Alabama Power does offer financial assistance for income qualified individuals. So not sure why they were rude. Ask for a supervisor. For example, they offer a discount program for people with SSI or people with Aid for Families with Dependent Children (AFDC). Find all the details on Alabama utility assistance including grants and weatherization type programs.

I have just enrolled in collage for the first time and am struggling to keep my bills paid. I'm a single mom and have a 4 year old. I'm trying to teach her to not depend on someone but if you need something get it for yourself. In the mean time my power is getting cut off today I've had to take her out of daycare and have no money and running out if options. Please point me in the right direction. I live in Alabama, Shelby County. Thanks.

Hello. I am in need of assistance with my utility bills, which are now past due and will be disconnected on October 4, 2015. I have been looking for employment since separating from my former employer four months ago, and have several interviews set for next week (so it seems that the tide is beginning to turn in my favor).
Since that time, I have been supporting my family with my savings; now, however, there is nothing left. I live in Opelika, Alabama, which is in Lee County. I am unsure of where to turn for help, and am becoming desperate. My two infant grandchildren live with me. I cannot have the power shut off, nor the water. Please, where can I go for help?

Hi, my husband has been without a job for 4 months, he finally caught a break and will start working in a week but it will be about 3 weeks before he receives a paycheck. I rent my home and we were told we needed a new electrical unit which is causing an extremely high utility bill, as we do not want the service turned off. I'm in desperate need of assistance with this utility bill until my husband can start making money. I live in Phoenix city Alabama. Anything you are able to do we would greatly appreciate.

Need help paying my light bill of $212.00 this month.
I am disabled and in a wheel chair that has to be charged. I also have a lift chair.
My daughter and her husband and 4 children ages 10 oldest and 2 being the youngest. They help take care of me.
My son has been going to school to drive a transfer truck. He will not have income for about 3 more weeks.
I draw $764 a month SSA and $108 windows benefit. My son pays the light bill and water bill every month.
We live in my dad's house. The light bill is in his name. I have a death certificate for him.
We also need a new central unit. Mine has gone out.
Please let me know if there is any help I can receive.
I will be having hip replacement on both hips and also back surgery on my lower back so I can walk again during this year.

The public assistance programs in Alabama may give you a few dollars from TANF or even LIHEAP for those bills. Look into them here.

As there are many to try...all which address utilities, lights, etc.
