Hi, I am trying to find some assistance in paying my electric bill. I have been out of town and just got back Saturday night. I'd been with my grandmother who had breast cancer surgery this past week, and when I came back with my family, my bill was in the mail. Our mail doesn't always run quickly around here. Anyway, the power is scheduled to be turned off on 4/9/09 if the min. is not paid which is $222. I am currnetly waiting on my disability hearing next month and my husband is unemployed as so many are, although he does computer work when he gets the chance from anyone who needs it. We have a 17 year old son also, and I am scared our electricity will be turned off and don't know how to get help, except all the organizations that United way gave me I called this morning like salvation army and they are all out of funds. Please if you can help me or know where I can get help and how to contact them ,please let me know. Thank you so much. I am in Canton, Georgia,

Many Georgia utility companies offer Operation Roundup, which will provide assistance with utiltiy bills, as well as other bills, rent, and more. Try Project SHARE in Georiga, which provides electric bill help and is funded by the Salvation Army.

I live in Columbus, GA. My father passed on 6-1-2014 leaving us with a power bill of $1,620. From my understanding he made payment arrangements with GA power, but he was in the hospital and eventually he passed. On 6-2-2014 our power was turned off and we have nowhere to go. I’m reaching out to you to see if you could help me, my mom and my three younger siblings get our power back on. I am trying to work two jobs now so that my family will never have to be in the cold again. With my dad handling all the bills I wasn’t aware of this large amount. I have the bill statement showing proof of the current balance. I ‘ m praying that you all can help me with this burden that I have. I thank you in advance and may God continue to bless you all. Also, thanks for taking the time out to read this email.

I have questions to ask. I am looking to find a place that has funds in Atlanta to help me pay my electric bill because I have like 1 week, before I get evicted. That is the policy from where I live.
I get 30 days to pay my electric and if I don't I’ll get evicted, also I'm going to get charge for rent and I don't have no funds yet. When I was working what I make it was to get stuff for my kids and for me to eat, is all myself I'm trying to support my life and its getting hard on me.

Good Afternoon Sir or Madam, I have a utility bill due on Wednesday, October 7 with Greystone Power Corporation. The amount of the electricity bill is $221.00, of which $150.00 has to pay in order to avoid service disconnection. I informed Greystone Power that I would not be able to make any payment until Friday, October 9. The representative at Greystone Power then suggested that I contact Fulton CAP for assistance in making the payment by October 7. Any financial assistance that can be provided will be appreciated greatly. Thank you for time and have a great day. Kind Regards. Note, I live in Fairburn, GA. 30213.

Hi there. I am in the state of GA, Marietta/Smyearna. I desperately need your help/guidance. I am renting a home, this is my 5th month there. I do not use central heat or central air due to high prices of electric. This will also include the winter months to come. My bill usually runs at $80.00 a month, but my usage is only $30.00 out of that, I do not like that but have no choice.
However my problem is Gas South, my local provider says I have to have a pay as you go plan, OK fine, but now they want to bill me by the history of usage from prior tenants from `1 year ago, their usage was $288.00 for the month of December. WOW.
In my house there is 2 of us, we only use hot water for showers and dishes, AGAIN no central heat usage. I can not afford to pay this and no have a disconnection notice of December 30. Help… It is only me and my mom, 68 years old. We just can not afford it. Please help us.
