However, our son got his first car a couple of months ago. Junker, needed work, which we paid for as a birthday/graduation gift, but he had to have it. Now, his car is broke down, again. It needs about $500 in repairs, which we obviously don't have. So, it sits in our driveway, undrivable! So now, my car has become his car basically. He takes it every day to work, and whatnot. I haven't driven my car in 2 weeks. Our car (which I pay $250/month) needed brakes all the way around which my husband was luckily able to do. It did need a few other things he couldn't do (about $500) that had to be done at a shop. He did the brakes all the way around our sons car, as well as our daughters car. With all that $$$ going out, my basic bills got behind. 2-3 months behind! I was luckily able to get HEAP and Emergency HEAP to help with my outrageous utility bills. Thank God! Problem is, after my basic bills are paid (when they're current), I have less than $300 for gas and groceries, for a family of 5! I qualified for Temporary food stamps, but now that 2 of my kids got part time jobs, I do not qualify anymore. I have car insurance coming up, and am trying to catch up my bills that are behind and ready to be shut off!!!!! I have already scaled back and gotten rid of my home phone, and other things. I don't have anything left to get rid of. I have to keep the internet service as my daughter takes some online courses. I do have a cell phone bill, but I HAVE to have a phone, in case something happens. I have no luxuries; I don't go out to eat; I am wearing the same clothes I've worn for 20 years! I don't buy ANYTHING extra; I buy all generic food; My husbands prescriptions are almost all generic.
My husband is on Medicare and we qualify for some help with prescriptions. He does have some medical bills outstanding that I am trying to pay a little at a time to pay off, before his next visits. We owe his primary doctor, who likes to see him every other month; and his cardiologist who likes to see him every 3-4 months. That's $85 - $100 each visit, our coinsurance fee? He is on 18 medications daily. He is due for all of his annual tests, but I keep postponing them because I just can't afford it! I, on the other hand, do not have any medical insurance other than my WC for my injury. I do not qualify for Medicaid (ironically, I make "too much money"), nor do I qualify for HEALTHYNY because I have not worked in over 2 yrs. Typical catch 22. So, I have not taken my blood pressure medication in 6 months because I can't afford a doctor, or medications. I also cannot go to my Gynecologist for exams, or Have my mammogram that I am 2 years overdue on (because of my surgery, I cannot lift my arm). The doctor was following me for a small lump in my breast.
I need help, fast. I am scared to death to do a payday loan. I don't have anyone I can borrow about $1000 - $1500 from and pay back a little every other week when I get paid. I am even willing to have it come directly out of my account! I don't know where else to turn. All the Peer to Peer sites are basically for good or perfect credit, which I do not have right now.
PLEASE ! ! ! Any help or suggestions would be forever greatly appreciated. I am literally desperate and don't know where else to turn.
