Personal loan

Post by Bw19 »

Hi there,

I just happened to come across your site here and I am really in a financial bind where I live in an apartment complex in Milwaukee, Wisconsin & my vehicle was towed off the parking lot as my loan payment was due. The end result was I had to pay over $340.00 to get it back when I had every right to park there. I addressed my apartment manager & he basically said "tough". Well now I'm in a situation where I can ot pay the rent for this month (November 2010). I don't believe that I qualify for any payday loans because I'm not working right now. I will be starting a new job by this weekend however. I really don't know where to turn. If you could give me a lead or two on places that I can go where rent help is available or some type of short term personal loan, I would more than appreciate it. I mean it dosent even have to be for the full amount. Maybe a half, or even 1/3 of it, just so I can avoid an eviction process. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read.

Why do you think you can't get a payday loan, or some other type of poor credit loan? Especially if you are starting a new job you should be able to qualify for this type of loan or assistance. A payday loan you would be able to use to pay your rent, car repairs, or other types of bills and expenses you may have.

I've looked on your site, but I'm not sure where to start. My situation is this:

I've lost pay at work as well as hors ($500.00)
I've been overdrawn every time I get paid (direct deposit bi-weekly-most recent 5/6/11)
My daughter is living with me (Age 19-just found employment-won't be paid for 1 month)
I'm paying my ex $300.00 child support
I'm behind on ALL of my bills

I'm trying to locate a lender who won't charge me an arm and a leg to get a personal loan so I can get out of this hole and caught up and then make changes to my bills (elimination of most). I've already gone through my bills, and they total as follows:

Total monthly bills=$1818.31 (mortgage/ car payment/ auto insurance/TV/ water/
trash/ gas/ electric/ phone/ internet)---will eliminate Internet and TV
*************************I haven't even included groceries*******************
Total income=$1828.70-------now as of Feb 2011

Total income=$2249.34 (prior to Feb 2011)-------------------------------------->total loss of income=$420.64

Right now, I have $6.00 in my checking account and I just got paid today. I was
overdrawn before ($166.00) and had to draw an "advance" and they charge $2.00/every
$20 (I requested $460.00=$506.00)

I found some great tools to keep me on budget, but I need to get out of this hole first and I need guidance and assistance. Where can I turn?

So you need some type of short term loan or financial help. If so, numerous resources, including loans, may be able to help you in your situation. Some loans are offered by credit unions, some by the federal government, and you have such options as peer to peer lending. One new and up and coming program is the FDIC Small Dollar Loan, which caps interest rates at about 15%. So much better option than a payday loan/lender.

There are some banks in the Pennsylvania area that offer the FDIC small dollar loan program. They are great alternatives to payday loans and other high interest rate options. It is a government supported program. More on government small dollar loans. For example, call Wilmington Trust, which is close by in Wilmington, DE . I think that is the closest to you. Also feel free to call them to see if another bank is even closer.

Are you by any chance a member of a credit union? If so, many offer short term loan products known as stretch pay loans. They are lower interest, very low fees. While usually can only get several hundred bucks, maybe that is all you need? Here is more information on stretch pay loans. Also look into FDIC small dollar loans, or even a personal loan from a major bank such as Wells Fargo. A Payday loan should be your last option, and only if you really need the cash and are in dire emergency.

Hi I am interested in getting some information on how I can apply for a personal loan. I am $1000 in debt with my credit card bills and paying about 15% interest and I would like to finish paying them off before the new year. Of course I would like some form of loan that has a lower interest rate than that so that I could pay off my credit card bills and debts. If you can help that would be great. Thanks

Well, you can maybe pay off those debts with a personal loan, but only do that if the interest rate is less than your current 15%. So for example,if you can get a personal loan for 10%, then those founds can pay off your 15% debts, and you in effect save 5% per year, or about $50 per year. But always read the fine print, and only do this if the rate on your new loan is less than 15%. Find a bunch of information about personal loans, peer to peer lending, and other loan products here.

I am writing for help in securing assistance. I am a newly disabled individual living in Pennsylvania who is seeking a personal loan to improve my quality of life by removing stressors in the moment. I am employed full-time and am able to repay the loan; however, as a result of my disability, I have also lost my good credit rating due to being out of work following the transition. I am back to work and would like to acquire a personal loan to ease the transition. I would appreciate any information you might have to offer regarding where I could obtain such a loan with less than stellar credit. Feel free to contact me via email. Thank you for your time.

Anytime we hear a personal loan we tremble. If you are working again, then you have income, so do not take out a personal loan. It will just put you further behind. We recommend people start by checking in with a non-profit credit counseling in Pennsylvania first, before taking out any additional loans. They may have other options, can provide you advice on how to budget, and other help.

Hello. I am interested in the small loan for temporary help, since I am not working at this time. I live in Parsippany, NJ. I will be working again, and getting a paycheck on September15th. My last paycheck was June 30th. I went through a bankruptcy and it discharged on Feb. 21, 2012. I have tried modification, hope, and HAMP and they all say no. My loan was originated in 2010, and they say this is a problem. Please email me concerning this. Thank you.

I am a single mother with 3 minor children at home, who is soon to be displaced on July 1st. we have been at this residence for 4 1/2 years and the land lord wants to place it on the market and has offered to sell it to me for as long as I have been here, however, income property seems a difficult loan.

At any rate, I have been able to manage the rent up until recently as I have been enrolled as a full time college student at an online University. Just a short distance away from receiving a BA, my school loans in which I have been using to pay rent are no longer available. My low-income job does not provide enough for a traditional loan. I wish I had looked into other options before, however, my situation is now desperate. Being displaced with no available money to even move into a small overpriced apartment is a scary place to be. If I can at least set something in motion for the future, I can get back to school finish the last 5 classes, get my degree and a better job. Transition is always difficult.
