Get help with paying bills or free stuff.

I have been temping on jobs for the past 2 years. I am not degreed, or certified in anything and I want to change that this year. I would like to take the CNA nursing training course at my local Red Cross, however, the course amount is $1,200.00 which I am unable to pay. I will be taking the free admissions test next Thursday, 3/16/12. Upon passing the test, I would have to register for the course by 4/20/12, the first day of class, and have my course paid for in full. I have been emailing numerous charities, and agencies seeking assistance with the cost of this course. If there is any grant program for low-income families that can assist me with this fee so I can gain stable and secure employment would someone please inform me.

first go onto the website for the government, which gives grants, you don't have to pay back, I belive it's fafsa. Second look to your local Dept of Labor, this is where I got my grant to go back to school for Bookkeeping. You want to look on the website for free money, not a student loan you have to pay back. The bookkeeping class I'm talking is through the Dept of Labor and at a Learning Institute. Good Luck. I'll be done my class in two weeks, and I can say that after 4 years of being unemployed, my phone is starting to ring.

I am an active duty Marine currently stationed on reserve affairs duty in Pasadena CA. My family and I have found ourselves in a financial situation that we are fighting to get out of however it seems that every time I believe we get ahead, we take two steps back. It is hard for me to come to you asking for a grant for my wife job training knowing that there are many members of the service and veterans who are probably more in need than us but I had to at least reach out to see if there was anything your organization may be able to do. Please excuse the lengthy email as this is the only way to explain our current situation.
I have been serving in the US Marine Corps for 10 years and have been married for 8 of those years. My wife and I have four children who are well and healthy by the grace of God. We currently reside in the county of Riverside and after 4 years my wife has graduated from college with her bachelors in nursing. So where is the dilemma you ask? As my wife has been striving to achieve her degree we have been living on a single income and fighting every month to make our finances work. Some months were better than others but we have always survived. Earlier this year with her degree coming to a success we received a final bill for financial aid in the amount of $4500 and in turn had no idea how to pay this debt. After reaching out the NMCRS and to family we were blessed with the debt being paid and her being allowed to graduate. With that being said we thought we were on our way to gaining financial stability and having a good income to assist us with paying off debt.
At the end of June my wife was hired as a nurse as the result of the training she did, and though not the exact position she wanted she accepted it to help with "catching up" on bills that were coming past due. As the month went on we were anticipating her income to be a little more substantial than it was and it seems that we were not able to "catch up" the way we anticipated. With that being said I am hoping your organization may be able to give us some guidance on where to turn to for a new grant or even if possible assist us financially with a one-gift. Right now we have come due with 4 bills, including the job training. So we owe a lot. I am concerned are not going to be willing to work with us much longer to extend out our payments. These bills are rent for $1550, gas for $400, insurance for $160, and car payment for $420. This is not to mention that we are currently overdrawn $680 in our bank account.
I know this is a stretch and in all honestly do not blame you if you laugh and delete this email however I do not know what else to do other than ask. I am embarrassed and ask that if you would consider this I would be ever grateful for your assistance. Thank you and God bless.

My name is Evelyne. I just moved from Pennsylvania to Florida for school and was wondering if there are any sorts of programs to help full time students get back on their feet after a divorce. Maybe a grant to help me pay for job training or work costs? I have been here for a little over 3 months and I have been living from couch to couch and I have had some great encounters with people kind enough to allow me to sleep on their couches or rv floors. And to meet other students while I am here.
Now I am in a place where I once again don't know what to do and about to be homeless by the 31. It has been happening very often and I am growing very weary in well doing. I have had no chances with work, unless I get more job training and a grant to pay for it, and I lost most of my belongings and no longer have a car due to engine failure, I am terrified and in terrible need of help. I found a place closer to school so I can at least walk there and they accept full time students who are are at least in some sort of job training or getting help through the government to pay for a place to live while training for work. Please, if you can help me or direct me to someone who can help me with a grant to gain new job skills, I will be eternally grateful. I have been praying for an open door for a long time and I really need a break to peace. I pray that I hear from you soon. God bless you.

There are many job training programs in Florida that we hope can help you. Most of them are part of CareerSource, which is the government program with offices that may also give out grants. Look here for FL job training near you.
