Seeking HELP in a LOT of ways

I've been trying to get through to the "right" group/organization/something for almost exactly a year. During this year I have been evicted twice and currently living in a long term motel and about to be on the street completely because I lack the funds to pay for another night. I am disabled (which is what started all of this INSANE downward spiral a couple of years ago) and have no income. I need to file for SSDI because my private insurance company quickly found a reason to not pay. I have had problems getting to just the most stable of places to help myself. My husband is able to work all of the time (or close to it--he has a few health-related problems that are typically fine if he is able to see a doctor recently.) During some hard economic times, he was unemployed and trying desperately to take care of me as well. However, in his line of work, there appear to be plentiful opportunities, if he can make it to interviews, etc. (which he cannot! right now b/c he needs his medication and food, which we can't afford).

His previous job--a contract--ended suddenly/without notice. We have no money, no savings, nothing work $, no friends/relatives/countrymen willing to loan us money. I am out of my medicine he is out of his medicine... we have medical insurance for a window of time here until jan 1, but no money for the $20 copay. We have been living in long term hotel for a few months, thinking we'd be in a place by now (instead of positive turnaround, we're in a worse place). i try to get up the nerve to ask people for money...too sick to go in person, but will spend days and days calling to no avail.

we've been trying to find out about hotel/motel vouchers, which no one has...no was has any money left for the end of the year, or so that is what their outbound phone messsages say.

right now, if someone/anyone could loan us $800, we would have a place to live for the rest of the year (it is $188.20 per week here) and also fill our medications. then could visit food banks for food for us and our dog. we have each taken a payday loan or two before but I don't think we'd qualify for another right now. We will do anything legal/moral/ethical needed to earn money. If we could find someone to help, we can repay with work or money in the future (but don't need scary loan shark types--eek). we will repay loans, etc. but we are just without resources. please help! empty stomach and haven't eaten in a week...but the eating part is okay, need meds (although trying to eat when we have food!)

PS we are soon to loose everything we own--in storage--which breaks my heart! our stuff incudes artwork from family members and all sorts of things that might not be deemed value enough to escape landfill. yeah, we have two storage units and trying to manage that alone is difficult.

BTW, before all this madness, I was financially independent/doing well/etc. I'm a college graduade (Texas A&M University, Class o' 93), don't do drugs or drink (used to drink socially before illness but no more, since becoming ill.

And I am sorry to post this mess of information. I was going to try to write this eloquently but when I sat down I just kind of started dumping information--probably because without my meds, my head is swimming/dizzy. I currently reside in Dallas TX or Irving TX (on border). Do you have any ideas? I called some places today/yesterday and they said to get out a phone book and call churches. Which I will do now, I guess. I really , really will look forward to hearing back from you. This site is amazing and the only one of its kind. At least that I've found that has good info! (the timing of it has aligned with my misfortune...)

Trying to find the right group is not always possible. You just need to keep doing research, calling, and plugging away. there is no exact science. Place like the Urban League of Greater Dallas offer job training assistance, information for the low income and struggling, and many other forms of aid. 214-915-4600.
Other places may include Catholic Charities phone ((214) 826-8330) which can provide guidance, financial aid, and support.

Disabled but work a full time job & had a car Carrier dropped on me @ work. Huge cut in hours & income. My wife is disabled & has battled endometrial cancer 3 1/2 years. We have gotten behind on our rent & a few other bills for the first time & we are facing eviction. To top it all off our dog, 4 year old hound dog (who was a gift to my wife during her cancer battle) hurt his hip/leg this past weekend. We spent 300 to get emergency vet help for him this past weekend. Which has caused us to fall further behind on a couple of smaller bills, home phone service & auto insurance? We just need temporary help. Urgently need to keep a roof over my families head, disabled or not, it is my job as a husband & dad to provide for my family & it is killing me to be in this position. But with all the medical bills, vet bills & of course my accident @ work that has caused such a decrease in our income, well I need help to take care of my family & get us out of this crisis. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am disabled. Our water, electric, and phone have been disconnected while I was putting funds together for our stolen Jeep. This ordeal has the toilets stinking. We are freezing dirty dishes piled high to include endless amount of laundry and lack of personal hygiene. Please help me and my children.

There are some resources for the very low income, and they cover people with disabilities too. However, you said you need only temporary help. So what do you plan on doing to regain stability? As that plan of action will also help you as you apply for financial support from some of these programs for low income people. We are having trouble finding a place to take our children on these cold winter nights and need a lot more help. Seen that you have hotel vouchers and was wondering how I could get into the program. We also need clothes, food, guidance, and a lot more help. Tuesday is the 13th and I need to get help ASAP. This is a real emergency and I don't know what else to do. Call one of the local Charities for information on the vouchers as well as other financial aid. They may give you the clothes you need, free food, and more. Call those charities we have listed on Monday.
