San Diego Sheriff's Department evicting me

Post by lakeshia »

Good Evening Help Paying Bills Representative,
I have been  requesting  financial assistance to avoid the Eviction from the property management or the Sheriff's Department. I have contacted 211 San Diego military specialists kindly requesting to be place in a motel under the Emergency Solution Grant so I would most definitely meet my deadline to surrender the unit on December 25, 2019 and avoid the LOCKOUT on Tuesday, December 26, 2019 at 6:00am by the Sheriff. 211SD argued that the ESG can only be used by battered women, families, or women with children. This is incorrect. (individuals) You can read it for yourself. Then once I proved to 211SD that they were wrongfully informed, then the 211SD military specialist claimed that I can NOT use the ESG because I have maximized my rental assistance with Volunteers of America which is also incorrect. The SSVF is the main component and under SSVF you have Volunteers of America, Veterans Community Services, Veterans Village of San Diego. (Huge list)
As longest I do NOT request assistance from any of those organizations, I am eligible to receive assistance. The ESG is funded by the HUDD at the Federal Level and is distributed throughout the entire State of California, and how to be used has been clearly stated. The county argues that it can only be used on rainy days which is also incorrect. 24 CFR 576.2 states the following: 1) low income less than $1500.00 per month (VA 70% DFAS less than $100.00) 2) No family or friends home of record is Fort Worth, Texas discharged from the YOU.S. Marine Corp February 1992 discharged YOU.S. Army National Guard December 2013 3) prevent homelessness or an eviction The ESG falls under the Rapid Re-Housing program and currently the funding that is available $247, 566.00 as of December 14, 2019. Please help and STOP this NONSENSE of the San Diego County sheriff evicting me!!! Thank you!
Note I have "Spinal Cord injury" I should NOT lift more than 25lbs due to my injury. My two duffel bags combined range from 70lbs. to 90lbs.
I spoke to San Diego Housing Commission at (858) 654-1999. The person Miss Christianson has NOT returned my phone calls. Also, I was referred to South Bay Communities by county employee Megan O’Dowd who stated the following, "they should be able to place you in a motel at least for 21 days". Then Jennifer La Blanc claimed that under the homeless prevention they have 0 dollars which is CORRECT. As already stated, the Rapid Re-Housing is the program where funds can be used to be placed in a motel. (Motel 6, Super 8, Eco no Lodge, Rodeway Inn etc.. Chula Vista, California 91910 or 11) Note: As a last option, can help paying bills or another organization place me in a motel at least 7 days or 21 days???
The Emergency Solutions Grant in San diego is designed to be the first step in a continuum of assistance to prevent homelessness and to help homeless people move toward safe and healthy living. ESG funds can be used by emergency shelter operators and other service providers for activities such as street outreach, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing and data collection. There are Four programs in San Diego County currently funded with ESG funds.
The goal of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program is to provide financial assistance, counseling, and other services to prevent families and individuals from being evicted from the sheriff, losing their homes, or becoming homeless. The money will also be used to help those who are currently experiencing homelessness find both short term and permanent long term housing or apartments and stay in the new housing units. Types of rental and housing assistance offered: 1) payments for security deposits 2) rental assistance that can be short term (up to 3 months) or long term (up to 18 months) 3) assistance in paying for utility deposits and help paying utility bills 4) moving cost assistance to move into a new more affordable home 5) vouchers for motels and hotels.

There are eviction prevention programs in San Diego. Maybe they can help you deal with the sheriff and/or the local laws as well as the tenant rights you have. As California has many rules and regulations that apply in the city and county of San Diego too. Find more details on getting eviction help in San Diego.

My 21 month old son and his mother are also with me we live in San Diego California and are homeless as the sheriff was evicting us. We have just fallen on hard times. I lost my job and like to work and want to work just hard finding work, I don't have the "work" experience. We are currently staying in a motel using the county aided hotel voucher and that is up tomorrow afternoon. I am wondering if there is any way or chance you guys might be able to help my family and me keep a roof over our head for a few more days and stop the sheriff department. I don't want my baby boy without a bed or roof over his head at night. Thank you.

Hello I am contacting you guys to see if you all help with security deposits for a new home in San Diego, as I am being evicted now by the Sheriff's department. I've been in my apartment for 5 years and they switch the landlord he is not a really good landlord. My unit is infested with roaches, the toilets doesn't work properly the other toilet doesn't work at all. But the San Diego sheriffs don't seem to care about that.
The ceiling leaks and now different black spots across the unit are appearing and reappearing. My freezer and fridge doesn't work no lights in the kitchen we have to us a lamp. The landlord told me he isn't fixing anything until after I move after being evicted by the Sheriff. He filed for an eviction but I paid him for the month and now he's harassing me about next months rent or he will file for eviction again. My lease ends on the 31st I have 3 children one is a foster 1 year old and we just need a healthy home and environment. Now I do work etc. I got approved for an apartment in San Diego but they want first and last months rent which are 920 a piece I only have one enough for rent right now. If someone could please help or direct me I would really appreciate it. Thank you
