Hi Nancy,
I know Countrywide has a mortgage aid program. Many states sued them and Countrywide has a program that they are giving aid to subprime mortgage holders. They are giving millions of dollars in total. I think search the net for countrywide lawsuits and am sure the info will pull up.

Here is a comprehensive list of mortgage and foreclosure assistance programs and ways to get help by state and also by banks. Many states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and more created their own aid plans, and this is it.

So you do need help with your mortgage in Tucson? Or is it just repairs. Can you please clarify. If it is mortgage and foreclosure assistance, there are some different programs in Arizona, including Lawyers Helping Homeowners Program, Arizona Hardest Hit Fund, and banks and lender like chase have opened centers in Arizona, including Tucson, Phoenix, and other cities across the state.

I have been out of work going on 3 months. Living on savings. My resources are gone. I interviewed for a job 3 weeks ago and was told last Friday that I am still approved at the office in IN, and that corporate in New York has to approve for me to begin the hiring process. However that may be too late as my mortgage is due. I'm still waiting and hoping. I am handicapped. I was diagnosed at 32 years old (now 51 years old) with Degenerative arthritis in my spine after sneezing and blowing out a few disks in my back. My left leg is now partially paralyzed. There are some jobs such as constant heavy lifting - that I can not perform. I'm a machinist by trade, and my last job lasted only after 3-4 months it became to much for me to handle. To much heavy lifting. My shoulders were ailing badly and I was in fear of a relapse. That would have put me down for weeks possibly longer with more injury. It's devastating when it happens. I explained my situation to the vice president, and asked him to put me on lighter duty - he fired me saying it's best we separate before it gets worse. I have had other employment nightmares as well. Also - shortly after I arrived in Indiana I began to suffer with chest pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness, whenever I exerted myself on the job or not. I saw a doctor at a local hospital where they took and EKG. After the test, they asked me if I had a heart attack. I said no, not to my knowledge. They told me I was "popping T's" all over the place. Whatever that means. Later I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. You are born with it, but most times it doesn't show up till later in life. I would have to speak to someone and explain more my situation of late. A lot of it involves taking jobs out of desperation - that I could not do - having to resign, and explaining the problems I have - hoping for compassion. There was none. I had to be honest - in hopes of re-assignment. But I think it left me with a (no hire) label. With 2-3 temp agencies and they won't talk to me. Sorry for the long email. It's hard to shorten the story. But I need help. My electric is nearly at disconnect, my mortgage is becoming due on the 15th. I have never asked for help. Only since 2008 till today have I been forced in to asking. I wish to work, and not collect anything! Can anyone help? Sincerely,

Dear sir or ma'am,

I am writing in regards to a friend of mine that needs some help. My friend’s husband was laid off over a month ago and is having a difficult time finding a job that will make enough to pay the bills. She is a stay at home mom that helps me with my baby while I work. I pay her for that but that is the only income coming in right now. They have 2 children age 4 and 5. She went to the local family assistance office for food stamps but was denied because she does not have 4 weeks of pay stubs. Now she has to wait another 30 days to reapply. We have located local food banks and got her family stocked up on food for now. What worries me is the baby needing so much and they can't afford a lot right now. I have been trying to help as much as possible. Is there something offered that can help her family right now until her husband finds a job? He is trying to talk to the mortgage company to ask for assistance on their mortgage. Please let me know what we can do for this family. Thank you!

To whom it may concern:
I am writing to you to inquire about agencies in my area that will provide emergency and other assistance to me at this time.
I am a licensed practical nurse who’s been out of work for 15 months now. My home has not yet gone into foreclosure but I am more than six months behind in my mortgage payments. After speaking with my Home Preservation Specialist this afternoon, she suggested that I go to this web page to see if I could find an agency in my area that offers financial and other assistance.
I live in the City of Alexandria and I’m not sure that I am covered by Fairfax County. First, is there any assistance of any kind that you could provide? If not, could you please let me know what other agencies or organizations, federal or state, I can contact for assistance?
I would sincerely appreciate any and all assistance you could either provide or direct me to in Alexandria. I am at my wits end and my life is spiraling out of control and I fear I am headed for homelessness. I am desperate for whatever help you can offer.
I thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this message. God bless and keep you.
Thank you,

My husband and I are in need of help to pay our mortgage. My husband drives a big truck and with the weather situation this month he hasn't been able to work. Our youngest of two daughters is a special needs child. She has been going through some health complications which requires us to stay at the hospital a lot. We are out a lot of money to eat and basically live at the hospital with her.

Since your husband is out of work just for a short period of time (until the weather improves) counseling may be a good option for you. A HUD specialist may be able to negotiate a payment plan or provide you more time to make the payments. Also look into filing disability for your daughter, and that money can be used for the mortgage and her medical care. Here is a listing of HUD counselors for mortgage assistance, many of which may be able to help.
