I was wondering if there are any programs that would help a friend of mine. Her husband was just diagnosed with terminal cancer, and now they can't pay their mortgage as their income is way down. They were just married a year and a half ago and had purchased a home then. They also just had a daughter last March (2010). They live in Lancaster PA, do you happen to know of any programs that could help her with home payments. It is so sad. They could maybe now lose their home due to the cancer. The government has all these programs to help people pay their mortgage, but people who get sick get not help. Her husband does not have alot of life insurance

Sorry to hear about the cancer and mortgage difficulties. There are several mortgage and foreclosure prevention programs in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

Some of the agencies to call include Neighborhood Services (phone 717-392.2175) as well as the Community Action Program of Lancaster at (717) 295-4883. Both of the agencies coordinate housing programs for low income and others, including cancer patients. These agencies can even provide you info on government programs.

We have no were else to go and I am tied to a mortgage for a house I don't want and can't keep as I have cancer and have no idea what to do. We want to move to Erie and find something sustainable there hopefully once and for all and proceed with a sustainable life if possible but we have to deal with this place first. I tried to donate the house but no one wants it, I tried to contact realtors but I get no response and don't think it is sell-able if I tried currently.

Hello. My name is Prosperity, the reason why I have created this is because I am trying to find help for my parents. My father has recently been diagnosed with cancer, it is very scary and has taken a toll on my family quite a bit. My mother is very sick as well, she has been in and out of the hospital for almost 3 years, and she has a wound on her leg that will not go away, she can barely walk anymore.
But my father has always been the one who has taken care of us, making sure that food has been on the table, bills were paid, and made sure that me and my brother had a roof over our heads. But with my father being sick himself, bills have gotten behind, so many bills. At the end of the month we may be facing foreclosure because we owe $7,000 dollars on the house mortgage. And if that happened my father, my mother and myself will have no home.
We need money, and things have really been hard on us, it has been hard on me, with taking care of my mother and father, it has been hard physically and mentally considering that I am only 18. The reason why I have asking for $7,000 on our house and the other $3,000 will go toward other bills and buy a car for myself.
My father has been a taxi driver for over 25 years, and growing up we never had a car because we just didn't have the money for it. My father is still driving but I'm very afraid of what will happen once chemo therapy starts. Having a car will give me peace of mind, knowing that I or my brother can take my parents to the doctor. Things have been very hard on us and we would greatly appreciate the help.
I will cry knowing that our house will be OK.
We still owe a pretty big amount of money on our mortgage, over $100,000 dollars, but once I figure out what to do with the payment that we owe at the end of the month, I will figure away to get the rest. Someone out there, please help us, I pray to God every night that everything will be OK Thank you for taking your time and reading this. God bless.
