Re: Churches That Help
Hi, Yes, there is no way a local church will pay bills worth $624. They have very little funding (if any) and only for people in the parish. But look here for churches near you that help the low-income . I contacted my local agencies and churches for help . But no one really could help with my large...

Re: Storage unit rent help
Hi, We noticed someone mentioned St. Vincent - they may help with rent on a storage unit. So may other charities or government programs, but it is rare. Generally this is little, if any, help for storage. Maybe ask about a payment plan with the property owner or a different sized unit. But if you do...

Re: Emergency Help with Electric Bill - Where to look
Hi, If you need emergency help either paying the bills, or transferring the service into your name, it really depends on your state and the electric company. As each state has different programs as do utility companies, but also try the crisis LIHEAP program (or your state's version). Either way fin...

Re: Can I use EBT card at Trader Joes?
Hi, Traders Joes takes EBT or food stamps, or your states equivalent. But of course you have to buy EBT eligible items (like at any store). Trader Joes does not mark what items qualify, like some grocers do. So be careful at make sure you buy approved items. Read more on the EBT process. https://www...

Re: Rental assistance while waiting on disability
Hi all, It really depends on when the disability may start. If confirmed to get payments in a week or so, a program may help. But if the SSI or SSDI may not start for months, or still not approved, then rent assistance may be harder to get in your community. But here is a list of local resources. ht...

Re: Need to fix our car to work for Doordash. Any ideas?
Hi,
If you need to fix the car for doordash, maybe a charity will help (within reason). Or at least cover maybe the labor, say from a volunteer mechanic in your community. Read details here on various ways to fix a car for a gig job.
