Have your wife get a job working an opposite shift to save the childcare expenses or get another part time job, whatever it takes.

You need to call the County Health Department immediately to have the issue addressed. Once involved the landlord will have to make the necessary repairs.

Re: Behind on Habitat from Humanity payment

Makes no sense you are behind. With the income stated after the mortgage you should have 1522 a month to live on. Cut back on all your expenses; cable, cell phone, etc and save some money. If you let it go into foreclosure not only will you NOT have funds for a new place, your credit will be ruined ...

Being military you have all you need at your finger tips. Call your First Sgt he/she can send you too all the places available for help. Cut back, cancel all you can; sell a vehicle if you have more than one, etc. We were young military and had the same thing happen, you can survive it.

Your adult kids should rotate caretaking and let dad get a job to help financially, no one can really live on one disability check. You can try 211 for local resource info.

Call them and make a payment arrangement, tell them you can only pay XX amount. This is not a huge amount to pay off and they should be more than willing to work with you.

Re: Disabled moving to another state and need transportation

Call the state offices before moving and see what you qualify for, they can tell you. Also you can't really move if you don't drive so you need to make sure you plan this out. Call 211 for local resources and your local Dept Human Services can tell you if any transportation is available.

VA Disability cannot be garnished. Check out 5 CFR 581.103 for what sources of income are subject to garnishment. If they garnish SS usually only 15%.

Re: Balance due on water bill

There are few places that help and even fewer if you are not employed. If may be tough but you will need to work, disability takes upwards of two years even with a lawyer and you will have to survive until that time. Let the phone be cut off, water and electric is a priority. Try 211 for local resou...
