44% of Americans do not pay federal taxes

I am always shocked when I see these stats. It is estimated that about 44% of American households will not pay federal tax on their 2018 returns, and that is equivalent to about 76 million Americans. The job market continues to boom. As we have been writing about for a couple years now, the economy is on fire. In fact, as of December 2018, there are 1.2 jobs available for each unemployed person in the US according to the JOLTS report which was released yesterday. Incredible!
