Re: I have a bond ladder and the terms are below
Hi Lena We agree. Bond ladders are tough to do, and probably impossible with government debt. Anyone who wants to do a ladder bond ladder would need to invest in more high yield corporate debt for any yield. While that can be an option, there is of course more risk there. Impossible to do this type ...

Re: Bad Q1 earnings caused by coronavirus
Hi Brittany That is actually one of the best times to buy stocks. You want to buy when "news is bad". Generally the stock market bottoms out when a recession starts....then it continues to go up even while we are in the recession. Bad news is historically one of the best times to purchase stocks. Wh...

Re: Teacher pensions
Teachers obviously hold a key role in American society. While our schools are behind other countries (and there are many reasons for that), the point being we need a strong educational system and teachers. So if they get a decent pension, so be it. As many are underpaid for their entire career. Teac...

Re: What stock ETF advice do you suggest?
Yes, there were 3.1 million who filed for un-employment. Honestly, with the huge market sell off, buying just an S&P 500 ETF is probably a good idea! Get some diversification. Our Unemployment numbers are going to Skyrocket very fast with NJ alone reporting 15,000 new claims in just One Day. At that...

This is why it is so important to pay yourself first. That way, no matter what happens in the future, you have something to your name. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/Fin ... elf-first/

Re: the qualify of bonds during a crisis
We are not sure what is going on in the bond market. Trillions of dollars of government bonds (sovereign debt) is trading under zero percent. This means people are actually LOSING money. While the total varies by the day, it is 13 to 180 trillion or so with negative interest rates. So while governme...

Re: I saved 60% of my income living overseas
That is an incredible story. While of course not everyone (or very few people) have the desire/ability/etc. to live overseas, or retire there, what you did with investing at age 20 and having an uncle that stressed financial literacy - all great stuff! You used that knowledge you had and executed on...

Re: Looking to buy with market down 30%
Well, good dialogue. Question Shantai. Using your logic, why have not margin calls be called by the brokers? Wouldn't brokers have already made investors using margin sell assets, as stocks have been down for days/weeks and margin calls are usually made within a few days. hi Brittany, I would not bu...
