Free Christmas and holiday programs Worcester County MA.

Charities in Worcester County provide free holiday, Christmas and Thanksgiving assistance to low income households as well as the working poor. Find how to apply for Angel Tree from the Salvation Army, Toys for Tots for children, or get free holiday food baskets or Thanksgiving dinners. Many of the agencies will also provide additional financial support around the holiday time frame, and that can include things such as financial help for bills or housing, but the focus is on spreading the holiday joy.

Most of the holiday assistance is focused on helping families with children as well as the elderly, but the charities will do their best to at least provide a meal or a companionship to anyone in need. There are also free holiday programs, including presents or Christmas gift cards, to single mother run homes. Children can also get free gifts such as Legos, clothes, video games, matchbox cars and other goods. On the other hand, children may be able to receive free toys or gifts, such as a game or maybe article of clothing.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester
This charity and church has several locations in the area, including Milford, Leominster, the city of Worcester, and in Southbridge, as noted below. They are volunteer driven and focus on helping the poor, immigrants, and vulnerable year round and at the holidays of Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Many services are administered by the churches, including at the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. There will be toys, meals, and seasonal food items from the pantry. Free gift cards for parents to get a turkey at stores such as Stop and Shop or Wal-Mart may be given too. Both low income and homeless from Worcester County can get help.

Salvation Army holiday programs
Most of these locations are regionalized, and only cover certain portions of the county or towns. They operate services such as the Angel Tree, which collects toys and presents from the community and then provides them to children. There may be games or dolls for kids, free toy trucks, Matchbox cars, bicycles and other Christmas gifts and even certificates. Senior citizens may get home delivered meals, and other resources are also provided, such as a Turkey at Thanksgiving or Christmas food.

The program has free Toys for Tots for children from low income qualified families. Many clients are single moms or the working poor/unemployed. There will be free Christmas gifts for kids age 14 to newborn. Games, books, electronics, clothes, Legos, winter coats, hot wheel care and more is passed out. The non-profit has a food pantry, which can have holiday food, meats, and similar goods. People can also shop at the low cost thrift store, and some very low income families may receive a free voucher for gifts or clothing.

Several other charities offer free Thanksgiving and/or Christmas help in Worcester County. Many are toys for tots application sites. But they also have free food pantries or soup kitchens for meals, small toys for kids, free gift cards to buy a Thanksgiving turkey, and other goods.
