There are several places to call for rent assistance in Westchester County New York, including the towns of White Plains, New Rochelle, and Yonkers. Various non-profits, government agencies, and charities offer rent assistance.

Unfortunately most of the programs have limited funding and or waiting lists, especially Section 8 housing vouchers and the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing. The best approach is to call multiple agencies in Westchester County to ask for their rental and housing assistance programs.

The Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS) also runs the government funded Rental Assistance Program (RAP). A non-profit agency known as Westhab administers the program, and it provides partial government funded rent subsidies for working families facing an eviction and who are homeless.
