Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)
For children with certain chronic or disabling medical symptoms or conditions, this medical assistance program provides specialized medical care for those kids. 1-800-642-9704

Emergency Assistance Program (EAP)
Was created to assist families and individuals in making it through a financial crisis when they are without available resources. This aid program will help provide short-term emergency financial assistance to families in need so that they can address the crisis or emergency. West Virginia Golden Mountaineer Discount Card
This is a medical discount prescription drug card for those residents who are over the age 60 who live in West Virginia. Find additional ways to get free health care and save on medical bills.

 

 

 

 

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP will provides monthly aid and grants in order to help eligible, low income households buy food. 800-642-8589

School Clothing Allowance (SCA)
Provided clothing grants and vouchers for low-income school aged children to help them dress properly and pay for school clothes.

WV WORKS
WV WORKS gives monthly cash assistance grants to eligible, low income families. The goal of the program is to assist economically dependent and at-risk families, and help them become self supporting, get job training and jobs, and enhance the well-being of children in these families. West Virginia Assistance Utility and Heating Bills

Reduced Rates
All electric and gas utilities offer a reduced rate of 20% from December - April of every year. Eligible customers need to be receiving other aid in order to be eligible for this program.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program - (LIEAP)
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) in West Virginia will help families with paying the cost of their home heating bills. Direct cash payments and grants are provided, or even payments to utility companies on their behalf. The program also includes a crisis component which is available for households without resources and that are facing the loss of a heating source.

Weatherization Assistance
Through this program that will help families save on energy bills, weatherization service providers will install energy saving equipment and energy efficiency measures in the homes of qualifying homeowners free of charge.

West Virginia Utility Assistance Program
This assistance program, which is operated by the Dollar Energy Fund, will help West Virginia utility customers with paying their heating, gas, electric and water bills. A one time cash grant is provided. The grants are also available to customers who may not be eligible for LIHEAP or other aid. Read more on this energy bill program.
