Washington DC free dental clinics.

Washington DC has several dental and health care clinics that the low income, uninsured, and patients with medical conditions can turn to for help. Most locations offer some type of assistance, usually on a sliding fee scale, so in effect there is free or low cost dental care provided. If for some reason one of the clinics can’t support you in your needs, then professionals at the facilities can often refer patients to specialists, hospitals, and/or other non-profit or low cost dental clinics. Tens of thousands of people are uninsured in the Washington DC area, and these centers are a great resource for people to contact for help and to get their needs met.

This clinic has been in operation since the late 1970s. Patients of the Columbia Road Health Services will be assigned to a team of medical and dental professionals that consist of a medical provider, dentists, and or doctors, as well as medical assistants, who will all partner together to ensure that they receive comprehensive health and dental care. The dental services at the facility are a little more recent, and these started in the mid 2000s. They work closely with other local dentists and providers in the area and will often refer patients to free or low cost dental care providers. The various services are focused on the poor and uninsured in Washington, DC area.

A sliding fee scale is administered by this center. So patients may be provided free care, or need to pay a minimal amount towards their medical and dental bills. The amount they will owe depends on their salary. In addition they also accept insurance, such as HealthRight, DC Medicaid, Amerigroup, Medicare, DC Healthcare Alliance, Chartered, Maryland Medicaid and private health and dental insurance too. Specialists can also help people sign up for insurance and access medical programs.

This is a community based non-profit organization that is really focused on maternal and child care for immigrant women from Central America in the predominantly Latino areas of Ward One in Washington DC. The center is a federally qualified non-profit center that offers low cost care.

La Clínica serves patients and local families with health and dental care through all stages of life, from prenatal to geriatric care. As an example. the on site Medical Services unit provides adult, pediatric, prenatal, and adolescent primary and dental care, as well as diabetic and reproductive health care. Dentists, doctors and other health and medical professionals provide treatment, evaluations, education, immunizations, check ups, diagnosis, and as well as referrals to specialists and local hospitals when needed.

At one time this center was known as Health Care for the Homeless, and it has been in operation for almost 30 years. Know known as Unity Health Care, the location is strongly dedicated to serving low to moderate income residents of Washington DC, and support is for people who need access to a wide variety and range of critical health and dental care services. The number of services have continued to grow, and it is now part of the Federal government’s emergency grantee for the Community Health Center Program and is a federal government qualified dental and medical center. A sliding fee scale is in place.
