Catholic Charities is one of the leading organizations in Vermont to turn to during a time of need. They are dedicated to extending services to struggling individuals, the elderly, unemployed and lower income families in the state. Services are provided in all communities throughout the state of Vermont, including Burlington and other cities.
Much of the support they provide is from counseling, referrals, and information. However if they have resources they may be able to provide emergency assistance to qualified applicants for needs such as rent, food, or heating bills. Any type of financial support provided is very short term in nature and is not to be though of as a hand out.
Senior housing and elder care may be offered from programs such as Level III Residential Care. These housing units provide older women and men with a caring, safe, and homelike environment. The units are run with the approval and in partnership with other non-profits and government organizations as well, such as the Vermont Department of Aging and Disability, Division of Licensing and Protection.
The exact services offered at each unit will vary, but they can include some or all of the following. Some of the housing units will provide clinics for basic medical care too.

Prescription medication management; personal care, general supervision of physical or emotional well-being; and nursing overview. This will be observation, assessment, establishing goals, supervision, and the administration of prescription medications as well.
