Households with children and seniors in Tulsa County can receive assistance at Christmas as well as other major holidays. A combination of charities, churches, and even local businesses can provide free toys, gifts, and meals to lower to moderate income families. Many seniors and disabled Tulsa Oklahoma residents can also get help.
What is provided by each of the programs will vary greatly. Since most of the agencies rely on donations, the type of food and gifts passed out are wide ranging. There may be toys such as games or electronic for children, or boxes of food for the entire family. Free clothing or gift certificates are also generally available at Christmas. During Thanksgiving or Easter, most of the support is in the form of a hot meal.
