During the Christmas and holiday season in the greater Topeka metropolitan area, low income families can get free gifts, toys, and food. Assistance is available across the region and surrounding towns, including the counties of Osage, Shawnee, and Jackson. Not only are there presents given out, but one charity even offers home repairs to senior citizens.
The programs are all community wide initiatives. This means they accept donations from residents and businesses in Topeka, and some of what may be contributed (and given out to clients) is as follows.
-Christmas presents including toys, clothing, boots, games and more.
-Thanks and Christmas meals, turkeys, meats, and toppings.
-Children can get special gifts and senior citizens may have a holiday food basket brought to them.
Find how to apply for assistance below. Each charity has their own application process in place.
