Terrebonne Parish DCFS supports the low-income in the area, unemployed, disabled and others. They provide for the distribution of EBT cards from SNAP food stamps to help pay for groceries.   • Housing Rehabilitation and Repairs will assist low to moderate income families with bringing their existing homes up to parish codes. Must meet low-income guidelines to qualify for support.

Catholic Charities, Terrebonne Parish, offers qualified low income individuals, single moms, immigrants and others with numerous social services. Resident supported by the churches include families with children, single moms, and the low income.

  • When funds are available from this faith based organization, this agency gives free food to the low income; household goods and furniture (based on availability) as well as new or used clothes. Terrebonne Churches' Food Bank (phone (985) 851-5523) feeds the community. the non-profit offers free food today and household goods to low-income individuals. Houma Louisiana regional Salvation Army can help the working poor, low income, seniors, and unemployed. A number of services operate across Terrebonne Parish.
