Most of the non-profit agencies that provide free holiday and Christmas assistance are located in Tarrant County, however they may also help qualified families in nearby Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, and Wise County. Or at the minimum an organization may have referrals for people in those nearby regions.
The exact type of goods provided around Thanksgiving or Christmas can include toys or clothing for children, meals and food for anyone in need that qualifies. Some centers will hold holiday events as well, in which participants can get a gift basket or a hot meal. Many volunteers will also deliver food and support to the elderly or homebound in the Tarrant County region, including those that reside in nursing homes.
