Tampa Bay families who need rental assistance have a number of agencies, government programs, and non-profit organizations they can call upon for help. Some organizations will provide funds for paying rent, and others will offer referrals, information, or other support such as case management. Qualifications will vary, but in general an individual will need an eviction notice and be out of other options. The programs will in general offer emergency assistance services. This can include, but is not limited to, counseling, financial assistance, and crisis hotlines. Rental assistance can also be prioritized for Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County Florida families who are faced with family and/or child safety concerns. Some non-profits will also provide, or require, applicants to go through case management, budgeting, or other financial advice workshops.

Bay Area Legal Services - The non-profit law firm can coordinate free civil legal services, aid, and representation to low income families. There is assistance with housing issues, such as help to prevent an eviction, stability, and foreclosure assistance. Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program, or HVRP, provides various employment, case management and housing services to those veterans behind on their rent and facing eviction as well as the homeless.
