Sauk County assistance programs

Financial and emergency assistance
The St. Vincent de Paul Society in Baraboo offers a variety of assistance programs to local residents. They help up to 10 people per day on average, and provide them with housing aid, gas vouchers, utility assistance, medical assistance and health care. The organizations for food pantry visits and rental assistance are up fairly significantly from last year.

Additional housing assistance is provided by the Central Wisconsin Community Action homelessness prevention program. they are assisting almost 20 families per week now. This agency provides financial assistance to people facing eviction and homeless families, and funds are used for paying rent. The help is short term in nature. Good news for this group is that they have received an additional $250,000 from the federal government to increase the size of their program.
