Short term housing and shelters in the Santa Fe County area.

Homeless families as well as the recently evicted can get help from emergency shelters and transitional housing programs in the Santa Fe County region. Guests of the centers will also generally be provided with assistance for basic needs, such as clothing, food, and employment counseling.

The short term housing programs operate in both Santa Fe County as well as nearby regions, such as Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, Taos and San Miguel Counties. Some of the sites are focused on certain individuals, such as veterans, domestic violence situations, the homeless or seniors. The capacity of each center is limited, and some may even offer referrals or direct financial aid for paying deposits or rent.

While resources are limited, the case workers from the transitional housing sites will do their best to meet the demands of qualified individuals from the region. While the demand for assistance is high, if they can’t help, then referrals may be provided.
