Providence Rhode Island Department of Administration, Division of Planning, Office of Housing and Community Development offers the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program. This housing/rent program was created from Obama stimulus funding. Apply for grants for security deposits, rent payments up to 18 months, and access long term programs too, such as self-sufficiency. McAuley Village Child Care Center – This center runs a transitional rental assistance program as well as shelter that are located in the Elmwood section of Providence. Rhode Island Housing – Runs the Housing Choice Voucher Program and Federal Government Section 8 Subsidized Apartment Rental Assistance. Get information on low cost homes and apartments for rent as well as rental assistance. 401 457-1234

 

South Providence Neighborhood Ministries – Household goods, furniture, and other items offered. Some rental and housing assistance be applied for.
