Prince William County food banks and pantries.
Most of the food pantries in the greater Prince William County are run by churches or other charity organizations. The locations will generally try to assist anyone from the community, but there will be restrictions. As an example, most of the assistance is first come and served. Also, some of the food banks will require a formal application from the client.
The goal of the pantries in both Manassas as well as Prince William County is to address the immediate needs of the struggling family. This is where an emergency box of groceries or a free meal may come into play. But the locations will also try to offer long term support to stabilize the family. This is most often met by state of Virginia or federal government programs, and those may be USDA food stamps or surplus commodities.
Those are just some of the services that may be available. For more information, including referrals to clothing closets or local thrift stores, the leading food pantries are below.
