Portage and Geauga County food pantries.

Assistance is available from food pantries across the counties of Geauga and Portage County. There are non-profit agencies as well as charities that offer support such as meals, groceries, clothing, and other aid. Some of the primary food banks and soup kitchens in the area are below.

The programs focus on helping low income families. Not only may a client receive a free box of food from a pantry, but many offer other services too. There may be personal hygiene items, clothing, baby formula, school supplies, and Thanksgiving or free Christmas meals or toys. Social workers on site will often help residents of counties such as Portage apply for SNAP food stamps or WIC vouchers as well.

So the resources available from the non-profits are extensive. Volunteers who work at the food pantries are focused on ending huger.
