Free food banks, soup kitchens and emergency pantries Pitt County

Churches, charities, and non-profit food banks in Pitt County North Carolina can help the less fortunate. Hundreds of Greenville and nearby families receive some form of assistance every month. Almost all of the free food pantries that may be near you as well as soup kitchens have very limited hours and resources, so it is recommended to call in advance. There is also an application process in place at most of the Pitt County centers. Also find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more free food and meal services in the Greenville region.

The items distributed will change by the day and week, but in general free groceries, and personal toiletries are offered. Pantries rely on donations, fund raisers, and partnerships with non-profits such as the Eastern North Carolina Food Bank. Examples of what may be served include rice, breads, pasta, meats, and frozen food items. This is the local Pitt County branch of the nation’s leading non-profit. Numerous emergency assistance and social serves are offered. A food pantry may have canned goods or surplus commodities. Get help in applying for government aid such as food stamps. Other resources include free Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, clothing, gifts for children, and financial support.
