Free food pantries and groceries Passaic County New Jersey.

Passaic County New Jersey has several free food pantries as well as soup kitchens for low-income families in the community. Many centers also provide other support to qualified families, such as free Meals on Wheel delivery, personal toiletries, holiday meals, and information on government programs such as TANF or food stamps and more.  Find locations of free food pantries, grocery give aways and soup kitchens near you below. Most centers are open daily, including today. There is also a referral number at the bottom of the page.

When an individual, senior, disabled person or family stops by one of these pantries near them, they will need to meet any conditions that may be in place. Most centers will also provide a limited amount of food or groceries, such as enough for 10 days. The exact amount will depend on the applicant’s income and number of persons in the family. They can also help people apply for SNAP food stamps public aid in NJ.

Most of the locations provide other programs too, such as clothing, free Christmas or Thanksgiving meals or holiday food baskets, and personal hygiene products. Some of the Passaic County New Jersey centers may also have funds for paying bills and expenses such as rent and medical costs.

In order to receive emergency or sustained feeding, applicants must be interviewed and meet conditions that are in place. Most families receive free groceries or perishable items that day and will be referred to a neighborhood food pantry for ongoing support.
