Oneida County and Utica rental assistance.

Whether an Oneida County family needs emergency rent help, or if they need to be placed into a shelter or transitional housing unit, there are programs available. Several non-profits and charities in the county use donations from organizations such as the United Way or the federal government to help low income families with paying their rent and other housing needs.

The assistance is generally available from a few different places. Residents can seek help from a local community action agency, as they often have applications to grant programs for back rent. Another option is short term housing or even shelter, and charities may offer that. Last, but not least, legal aid may be available as a form of advice for tenants with a pay or quit notice. Or the lawyers can also provide free referrals or help people apply for security deposit programs, section 8 vouchers, and other housing programs.
