Rental and housing assistance programs in Napa County.

On a case by case basis, emergency rental assistance may be provided to some low income Napa County families. The money can pay for a range of housing expenses, such as security deposits, utilities, lease application costs, and even moving expenses. So not only may a portion of back rent be paid in a crisis, but this financial aid is combined with other services. The types of agencies that may provide support include the following.

  • Community Action Agencies offer referrals to grants, job programs, loans, and more. Locate more information on California community action agencies.
  • Napa County based churches offer rental help as well as shelter to the vulnerable, seasonal migrant workers, and immigrants.
  • Non-profits and charities may also operate shelters or have funds for paying rent.

Each administering agency in Napa California will have their own application process in place. As an examples, generally the client needs a source of income to receive rent help. The homeless will need to be stable and/or gone through transitional housing before security deposit help is given. Other conditions may need to be met too.
