Milwaukee Wisconsin area Catholic Charity assistance programs.

If you live in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area and are struggling, Catholic Charities may be able to help. A number of churches and charities work with the organization to provide assistance to seniors, low income families, and the unemployed. There may be legal support for immigrants, referrals to financial help for rent or bills, free boxes of food and other support. The main resource is known as Community Outreach Services, and it provides referrals, guidance, and support.

Maybe more so than anyone else, the low income and working poor have been hit hard by increasing gasoline and food costs. Many Milwaukee area families are struggling to pay the rent, bills, and provide for their families. Catholic Charities is one of the nation’s largest organizations that is committed to helping the less fortunate. Programs are available in Milwaukee and other regions, such as Waukesha and Racine County.

Social workers and case managers from Catholic Charities’ Outreach will meet with clients and local families who are faced with challenges or who may be experiencing a crisis. They focus on those who feel they have nowhere else to turn to for help. They can direct qualified individuals to programs for paying their rent, heating, or utility bills. No direct financial aid is offered...only referrals to other Milwaukee County programs. They also have information on local food pantries, prescription drug resources and other aid for low income families. While not as common, sometimes the agency may have limited amounts of cash they can distribute in an extreme crisis.

The staff deal with a varying and wide degree of concerns that people may be faced with. Contact them for case management services and crisis intervention. Counselors can help direct people in need to non-profit community resources and temporary financial assistance. Many of the programs are focused on preventing homelessness in the community, so learn about emergency rental assistance or housing resources.

Community Outreach Services will assist the basic needs of individuals who call the agency in times of crisis. The program will help identify referral sources and options. Social workers will encourage and empower clients to create greater self-sufficiency and make community connections.

All advice and services are free and confidential. They will assist all individuals and families with addressing and resolving crisis needs. Resources are available throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, including in Waukesha, Kenosha, and other nearby regions.

Family and Children's Programs will support, enhance, and advance family stability and self-sufficiency. Case managers can offer Legal Services to Immigrants and Refugee Resettlement, strength through Behavioral Health Counseling Services, Adoption and Pregnancy Support, provide food, and more. The Catholic Charity family & children's programs advocate for individuals and families on these and other issues.

Programs for immigrants and newcomers to the nation and state of Wisconsin are offered too. For example, receive low cost (or maybe free) legal services for immigrants as well as Refugee Resettlement Services.

Help for senior citizens is also offered, including so called Adult Care Programs. Local churches as well as Catholic Charities do their best to meet the basic needs of older adults, their caregivers, and senior citizens in the region. They offer information, referrals, and more, and all is done with sensitivity and dignity. The non-profit charity agency also offers care options for older adults and senior citizens in Milwaukee who require some assistance in order to continue to live safely within the community and their own home.

Resources include Ministry on Aging, Adult Day Services, Caregiver Support, and In-Home Support Services. Other resource may include food, free meals, and information on medical and health care. Or locate how seniors can get help from Aging on agency in Wisconsin.
