If you need food or groceries in Middlesex County, learn where to call for help. Charities, food pantries, churches, and other not for profit organizations and agencies provide free food, groceries, and other forms of aid to the low income and people facing a hardship in Cambridge and Middlesex County Massachusetts.
Most of the centers offer a wide variety of services and programs. You can stop by a food bank in the region for support and referrals. A number of centers operate in Cambridge, Lowell, or other parts of the county, including the suburbs. They provide groceries, free food, hot and cold meals, breads, vegetables, and other perishable items. Most of the food pantries can also provide other forms of assistance, such as counseling and referrals to government programs and/or local charities. For example, families can often apply for SNAP food stamps or the government WIC program at a center.
Each of the non-profit centers listed below will have its own conditions that need to be met by a client before distributing food to them, and their hours may be limited. Call a Middlesex food bank near you to learn more, get information on their hours and to apply for assistance.
