Miami Dade free Christmas and holiday assistance.

Miami Dade County Florida non-profit organizations provide families and children with free Christmas gifts, toys, food, and holiday assistance. Centers will also hold other activities, including serving free meals and maybe holding holiday events. The leading agency in Miami that provides this support is the Salvation Army, but several other options are available to low income families as noted below.

The programs tend to begin during the fall and run through the winter months. Apply early as resources are limited. Assistance provided ranges from free Thanksgiving meals being served to groceries being passed out. Residents can turn to pantries and other feeding sites during the holiday timeframe.

The Christmas assistance offered is wide ranging. Applications are usually processed in September and later. Qualified families, seniors, and children can receive free toys, school supplies, gifts, clothing, games, and more. What is passed out will really depend on donations and fund raisers from the community. Many of the Christmas programs also rely on contributions and generosity of individuals and businesses in the community.

Salvation Army Corp Centers
There are several offices in Miami-Dade County and they administer a handful of holiday and Thanksgiving programs. Free groceries, hot meals, Turkeys, Hams, and other food is served. Gifts and toys may be passed out at Christmas from the Angel Tree and/or Adopt a family programs.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of children, immigrants, and low income families receive clothing, toys, and support. The Miami Salvation Army tries to spread cheer and joy to the less fortunate. The centers provide a warm environment for both community outreach and even worship if need be. Senior citizens can even receive home delivered meals or gifts during the holidays.
