Community and regional free food and banks in ME
Good Shepherd Food Bank is the main Feeding America affiliate for the state. They partner with hundreds of local emergency food pantries, government social service agencies and feeing sites to feed the low income and struggling. The non-profit will direct people to a local free food distribution center near them for groceries, produce, government commodities and more.
The non-profit also help with applications to government benefits, including SNAP food stamps, USDA free school lunches, WIC vouchers for baby formula and free food for refugees or asylum seekers.
