Duval County and Jacksonville Florida homeowners can receive free foreclosure and mortgage counseling, information on solution and programs, and other aid from the Fannie Mae Mortgage Help Center. The goal of the location is to education families about options that are available to them. Many other non-profits are also partnering with Fannie Mae.

The center is being operated in a partnership Jacksonville Florida based Wealth Watchers Inc., which is a local nonprofit housing and foreclosure counseling and community development organization. The center will primarily focus on those homeowners who have, mortgages owned by the federal government-sponsored Fannie Mae.

Fannie Mae and the federal government both are committed to doing everything in their power to ensure that those homeowners that are facing some type of financial hardship know all of the options and solutions that are available to them, and that they have access to as many free programs and solutions as possible.

Programs and services offered

There are many solutions offered. As an example, some of the services available to Duval County homeowners at the Center include free one-on-one consultations and sessions with experienced housing counselors. Together you will review, with the counselor, your entire financial situation, including your current mortgage loans and financing options. The counselor will meet with you one on one and take the time to explain the range of solutions and options available to you, and they will help you, the borrower, apply for mortgage modifications and loan workouts and other alternatives to foreclosure. As another enormous benefit offered by the Fannie Mae Center, all of the services are available to families and individuals in both English and Spanish.

Housing counselors can also help homeowners apply for loan workouts from the federal government or directly from their lender, and also offer other alternatives. The center is committed to helping homeowners receiving an answer within 30 days of stopping by the center. This Fannie Mae mortgage help center will serve as a great resource for information and will provide mortgage assistance to those who need it most. Counselors can also direct homeowners to other non-profit and Florida HUD counseling agencies.

The non-profit agency Wealth Watchers is also part of the program. In addition to providing struggling homeowners with free counseling, information, education and access to mortgage solutions and financial literacy programs and resources, the Fannie Mae Mortgage Help Center staff as well as Wealth Watchers will help Jacksonville Florida homeowners coordinate directly with their banks and/or mortgage servicers and ensure an efficient response time. But Duval County residents can also get more than just mortgage help. In addition, the free Center will also help to combat mortgage fraud, advice to deal with predatory loans and general mortgage abuse in the Duval County area.

All of the counselors at the site are HUD approved, and are fully trained in the most current and best foreclosure prevention programs.
