Indiana and Armstrong County rent assistance.

Charities, non-profits, and the local county assistance office may all provide rental assistance in a crisis. The programs support the two counties of Indiana and Armstrong, and the applicant needs to meet income criteria. Note the funding often runs out and there is also usually a waiting list in place for a grant to pay rent, however referrals may be given too.

Any housing support is combined with a number of other services. The agencies may not only offer money to pay a security deposit or back rent, but they are involved in everything from providing transportation to income management, outreach, and even running short term shelters. In fact, one time rental assistance is only given to individuals who agree to enrollment into a housing plan to assist them in both becoming self-sufficient and connect them to mainstream benefits in Armstrong or Indiana County.
