In His Name Ministries emergency assistance.

In His Name Ministries, which is located in Oklahoma County, has served the underprivileged and low income community for a number of years. This faith based charity is focused on helping indigent individuals and families who want to help themselves, and there is a particular focus on the disabled and seniors. While direct financial aid is limited, the center aims to assist its clientele in achieving self-sufficiency with dignity. Assistance is available across Canadian, Cleveland, and Oklahoma County.

In order to meet this goal, In His Name Ministries tries to offer both emergency assistance and ongoing support for persons or entire families in need. The non-profit is made up of many volunteers and uses donations. Some of the services include, but are not limited to, cash assistance for emergency needs, a food pantry and soup kitchen that serves hot lunches, a hospitality room for homeless individuals and referrals.

Financial assistance is available to help a small number of income qualified individuals avoid eviction and utility-service termination. There may also be assistance for people that need assistance in accessing health care and other essential needs. This service is considered a last-resort option for individuals who cannot obtain assistance elsewhere.

Persons seeking assistance must enter a process that is available first come and served. All applicants of In His Name Ministries must demonstrate their need in order to qualify for support, and photo identification is required, as well as proof of income and expenses. In addition to that information, families with dependent children must provide evidence of denial from the Oklahoma county of Department of Social Services and other local charities.

Staff members from the non-profit church group will evaluate each request for assistance to determine how to best help each client. The charity relies entirely upon private donations and does not receive funding from the United Way, or the state of Oklahoma or federal government.

There are local feeding sites and soup kitchens in Oklahoma County and nearby Cleveland. These dining rooms serve hot meals, and anyone in need of a healthy food can make use of this service. Many local churches partner with IHNM and volunteers from them take turns preparing and serving the meals.

Homeless individuals can take temporary refuge in the local shelters in Oklahoma City. It provides food, clothing, a hot meal and personal items. Moreover, shower facilities and bathroom are available, and clients can make use of a washing machine and dryer to launder their clothing. The shelter is also a safe place to rest and sleep.

In His Name Ministries serves individuals who are homeless for a variety of reasons, such as single moms, addiction, mental illness, and/or unemployment. Visitors are welcomed with open arms and receive encouragement and support to seek the help they need.

The church operates a free food pantry to distribute supplemental bags of groceries to qualified residents in counties such as Canadian as well as Oklahoma City. Clients of the pantry must provide proof of income, photo identification, residency, and Social Security cards for all household members.

Impoverished persons often receive groceries on an ongoing basis, and the elderly may have a meal delivered to them. In order to keep the food bank operating, local churches, businesses, restaurants and individuals donate most of the goods.

As noted, In His Name Ministries is a church that operates in Cleveland, Oklahoma County, and other regions such as Canadian. The main numbers are (405) 720-9285 or (405) 773-0777.
