Imperial County food pantries.

Several charities operate food pantries across El Centro and Imperial County. They try to provide basic needs to clients. Whether it is a free box of groceries or other items, such as a piece of clothing for work or a Christmas meal, programs are available.

Too many families are facing hunger, and this includes seniors as well as children. Residents can turn to one of the food pantries or soup kitchens for help. They can often assist in an emergency, or refer the person to other resources in Imperial County, such as CalFresh.

Other services are run too. Senior citizens may benefit from a Meals on Wheels service, and clothing closets may offer work or school clothing. Another focus is on feeding children over the summer and holiday breaks.
