Food pantries in Guadalupe County.

Food pantries may not only provide free groceries in Guadalupe County, but many of them coordinate other Family Services too. Depending on the location, and the time of the year, examples of what may be provided by one of these non-profits is listed below. However offering clients emergency food is the main priority, and any other support varies widely.

The services from a pantry include some or all of the following.

  • -Vouchers can be used to shop for healthy items at a store, or they are available for a clothing closet.
  • -Case managers from the non-profits also provide intake to help families living in poverty apply for SNAP food stamps and other benefits.
  • -Of course, providing Christmas or Thanksgiving meals will also be a service.

Guadalupe County seniors, immigrants, and the working poor can stop by. Assistance is available in Spanish, and some of the non-profits participate in Meals on Wheels services to deliver goods to the homebound.

The non-profit has volunteers and donation programs. Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, financial aid, toys for kids from Angel Tree, and more is available. A food pantry and thrift store are also key services.
