Free food food pantries, groceries and meals in Chester County.

Food pantries in Chester County Pennsylvania provide limited direct aid, including free groceries and some may even have financial assistance. Or get free hygiene supplies, find boxes of groceries from a food bank near you, baby formula and more. Programs are offered to residents of the local community who have basic needs that have to be met. Some of the services provided on most days include free boxes of food, meals, and assistance with items such as clothing, personal products, baby supplies, diapers, and more.

Thousands of families receive some form of assistance every year. Do not hesitate to call a local Chester County food bank for help, and find a phone number at the bottom of the page for more information. While priority is usually given to the low income, seniors, disabled, or unemployed, rarely will anyone be turned away if the center has funding.

In addition to offering free food or Christmas meals to qualified residents, some of the pantries may even have limited financial assistance available. Or they operate Meals on Wheels for the disabled or elderly in Chester County. The non-profits may also arrange for holiday assistance, or counselors/volunteers who can direct the needy to local charities, resources or government programs such as food stamps.

Non-profit Coalition Against Hunger is a resource for low income families and the working poor in Chester County. The organization, and its partners such as local churches, offer referrals to food pantries, applications to public aid (such as school meals and SNAP), and even support is contesting a denial of an application.
