Free Christmas and holiday programs in Baton Rogue Parish.

Low income families in East Baton Rouge Parish can apply for help at Christmas as well as other holidays. Get free Christmas toy tots for or kids, help from Adopt a Family or free Christmas presents from Angel Tree and other holiday programs. Several charities, churches as well as government organizations, including first responders as part of the Christmas Crusade, try to provide children with free toys, gifts or clothing. There may be dolls, Legos, video games or books and more. The free presents often include a holiday meal or free food basket for the entire low-income family as well.

Much of the holiday assistance is targeted at vulnerable residents. This means that children may be given small Christmas toys or holiday treats. In some cases, a gift card may be given. But another goal of the East Baton Rouge Parish programs is to help senior citizens as well as the disabled. Low to moderate income families can apply for Angel Tree. There are also Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the homeless and poor, shelter, school supplies, money for critical bills, and other resources run.

The charity operates a Christmas Toy Program. It relies on donations as well as volunteers. There is also a dining room on site that serves Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas meals, including turkeys. Free clothing, gifts for kids or teens, and other items are available.
