DeKalb County Illinois food pantries.

Whether it is a free, emergency box of food or information on local assistance programs, a food pantry in DeKalb County may be able to help. The centers, which are located throughout the region, assist everyone from senior citizens to the disabled, children, and underemployed.

While the focus of a pantry is on offering food, there may be other services available as well. The case managers at the centers can refer clients to everything from soup kitchens to housing or financial aid. Another service in high demand is always on applying for public aid, and this is where a pantry can offer information on SNAP food stamps and more.

DeKalb County food banks may also help meet other basic needs. Whether it is an article of clothing or free Thanksgiving or Christmas meal, other resources are available. Or make an inquiry into school programs, diapers, and hygiene items.
