No interest loans in Cleveland Ohio area.

Families that need help in Cleveland and northeast Ohio may receive funds from a number of places in the community; ranging from credit unions to charities, government home repair programs, and more. The non-profits or other companies in the region will offer assistance to qualified individuals in need of short term assistance. The interest free loans are available across the region, including the counties of Cuyahoga, Lake, Summit, Medina, Lorain, and others. In many cases the assistance is available for all that qualify, and in some cases any help is limited to people that meet certain criteria, such as job seeking, etc.

For those that apply, and who are found to be qualified, the individual may receive interest free loans. The program is run a number of different private and charities in the region, with occasional support from non-profit partners. Each request is reviewed on a case by case basis, but in the past, most of the funds would go to individuals who satisfied the following requirements.

  • The family must have a need for financial assistance, and the cause of the hardship can’t be from their own negligence.
  • The borrower will need to have applied for, and been rejected on loans from other sources, including banks or even on-traditional lenders such as a payday company.
  • They need to be able to repay the loan over time, in monthly installments.
  • There needs to be one or more co-signers.

Those are just a few of the conditions. But there may be others, with an emphasis on funds only be provided to responsible borrowers from the greater Cleveland Ohio region. It also depends on the organization issuing money, as a credit union will have different criteria then say a charity.

Different expenses can be paid by the lenders that issue this form of financing. With the challenging economy in Ohio, many people need some short term help with these and other bills.

  • Housing expenses, such as rent or security deposits can be paid by the zero interest rate loans.
  • Life and Family Expenses, such as burials, funerals, childcare, or divorce related costs.
  • Home repairs or improvements. This can be roof or furnace repairs, plumbing, or other safety measures.
  • Work expenses such as transportation to an employer in Cuyahoga or Summit County or elsewhere in Ohio.
  • Get help in paying for car repairs for work reasons.
  • Loans can be used to pay for education costs, including books, tuition, fees, supplies, clothing, certification courses, or grad school.
  • Limited dental expenses or medical bills can be paid.

Similar to above, different lenders offer interest free loans for paying different expenses. Banks will vary from charities, and the government has their own criteria as well.

The lenders that issue this types of funds will require that all applicants live in Northeast Ohio or the greater Cleveland region. They can reside in neighboring counties too, such as Lake, Cuyahoga, or Lorain. The applicant needs to have some source of income, as they do need to repay the no interest loan over time. They also need to have some decent credit scores in order to apply.

Be prepared with proof of hardship and to show your need. Applicants should have income, a copy of prior year’s tax return, copy of lease or mortgage, utility bills, and other expenses. This should be provided for the co-signer as well. It will take a couple weeks for the request to be approved and funds issued.

The amount paid out will vary, but it can be up to $5000 or more. But each and every organization that issues funds has their own limits and caps; much of what is also based on the applicant. However there will not be any interest due or fees charged at origination. So this can be a great alternative to some of those higher interest rate offerings that are out there, such as credit card advances or payday lending. Offering a lower cost option to families is the main purpose of the interest free loan from a local group.
