Assistance programs Camden and Pulaski County

Non-profits, churches, and charities provide financial help as well as social services in both Pulaski as well as Camden County. The assistance is for short term, emergency needs only. Non-profits will also offer job placement and training services, free stuff, grant money and more. The main organizations to try for financial assistance are below.

Missouri Ozarks Community Action – The non-profit provides referrals, assistance, and other services in Camden and Pulaski County. Any financial support is the result of referrals to government programs, which include the following.
-Vouchers to pay for food from USDA programs.
-Heating as well as energy bill help is provided from LIHEAP. A focus is on senior citizens, the disabled, and families living in poverty with children.
-Food, weatherization, and other benefits may be arranged.
-Housing choice vouchers for rent or apartments are offered.

The community action agency will also support clients on the path to self-sufficiency. For this goal, programs for children such as Head Start offer meals, medical care, and educational services. There are also job readiness programs in Pulaski County as well as Leadership Development services. Teenagers can also get referrals to free scholarships for college..

Lamb House provides basic needs (free food, holiday meals, and clothing) along with emergency financial aid. The church based charity may offer loans or grants to pay for rental costs, heating bills, or prescription medications. Other services include free personal hygiene items, money for water bills, and more. The agency is in Camdenton at 50 Illinois Street N.E.

Family Support Division – Applications are given for government benefits or public aid. Families can apply for grants from TANF, Medicaid, disability, section 8 housing for rent help and SNAP food stamps among other resources. There are many other social services provided, and more on public assistance in Missouri.

Mers Goodwill Camden County Workforce Development Center helps the under and unemployed find jobs. Call them at (573) 873-2773. They also operate Welfare to Work Programs and offer free training. The office is at 151 East US Highway 54, Camdenton, Missouri 65020.

Good Samaritan Resource Center – The charity provides short term financial aid. The funds can help with paying rent or security deposits, prescription drugs, eye glasses, and more. They also offer an Assistive Technology Equipment Loan for the disabled or elderly in Pulaski County. Address - 1811 West Historic Route 66 in Waynesville. Call (573) 774-5011. Another center is at 117-119 South Chestnut in Richland, Missouri 65556, phone (573) 765-4477. This one also has food and a Brown Bag Meal service.

Food, clothing, and basic needs

Dixon Area Caring Center, which can be reached at (573) 759-3023, provides basic needs. Everything from food to household items, furniture, baby supplies, and other aid is arranged. There is also clothes provided as they operate a clothing bank for the working poor. Call the charity for information on maternity clothing for single moms, free diapers, and more. Camden County Mobile Pantry covers just the one county. Senior citizens can also apply for Meals on Wheels. There may also be Christmas meals or small toy programs (based on donations). The non-profit is based in Camdenton, and call (573) 474-1020.

Free Women's Center of Pulaski County helps new moms or pregnant women. They have cribs, diapers, and free baby formula. Other maternity and bay clothing is also given from their office at 704 Historic Route 66 West, Waynesville, MO 65583. For applications call (573) 774-4992.

Central Ozarks Medical Center offers general dentistry services, mental health services, and more. Their office is at 304 West Washington, Richland, MO 65556. Call (573) 765-5141 for information. Another location is in Camdenton at 948 East US Highway 54.

Fort Leonard Wood VA Clinicof Waynesville Missouri. The phone number is (573) 329-8305. They only offer support to veterans. Not only can some basic health care be arranged, but referrals are given to federal government health centers and other care.

Tri Rivers Family Planning - 2545 Bagnell Dam Boulevard, Lake Ozark, MO 65049. Phone: (573) 365-3244.

Health Department – Government benefits include applications to WIC, immunization services for children or adults, and clinics. Their partners, arrange for tests, lab work, cancer screening, physicals, and other medical care. Or residents can learn about medical equipment, such as resources that help pay for hearing aids.

Medical Missions for Christ Clinic loans or medical supplies, may offer prescription glasses for the uninsured, and arranges for affordable dental care. The location is 1974 North Business Route Camdenton, MO 65020. Call the charitable clinic at (573) 346-7777.
