In addition, staff at the locations across the county and townships can refer individuals to longer term solutions such as food stamps, WIC, or public assistance. The centers, churches and non-profits are located across the region, and will try not to turn anyone away. If a pantry can’t immediately address your needs, many organizations can refer applicants to nearby social service agencies, churches, or other places for help. Many of the Burlington pantries can also provide Meals on Wheels, holiday assistance, Thanksgiving turkeys, infant formula, and baby supplies. While not as common, locations may have emergency financial help for expenses such as utilities, clothes or shelter. If you or your family need help, try a food pantry for advice and support.

Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch can be reached at (609) 383 – 8843. Note they do not provide items directly to the public. However they can serve as a source of referrals and information. The state of NJ Community Food Bank distributes food to almost 600 non-profit organizations, charities, and groups across Burlington and other counties. All recipient organizations that receive food are 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies which have their own food assistance programs to feed those in need. Another similar option is the Food Bank of South Jersey, and the phone number is 856.662.4884.

So families can turn to these places for groceries and they include places like soup kitchens, day care centers, battered women's shelters, senior programs, half-way houses, churches, agency on aging offices, and similar. The food bank also relies on donations, and volunteers are also the lifeline of the organization. Volunteer or donate if you can.

A food bank is offered, as well as a 24 hour, 7 days-a- week emergency shelter program. After-hours services are offered too, and are referred to caseworkers. Emergency Services is an anti-poverty program providing for basic needs such as clothing, free food, shelter, and holiday meals.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
The volunteer organizations and churches provide food to needy individuals in the region. Many centers also provide referrals, Christmas meals and/or gifts, and other social services.
