Those that are struggling in Broward County Florida to provide Christmas gifts and meals to their families can get assistance from churches, charities, and non-profits. Several agencies are located across the region, including in Fort Lauderdale, and they offer the less fortunate some holiday joy.
The application periods usually start up in October and may run as late as December, however the agencies usually operate on a first come and served basis. The toys, gifts, and food items are very limited and rely heavily on donations. So apply for any Christmas assistance very early. Some of the Broward County centers may also offer Easter or Thanksgiving help as well.
While children and the youth are always a focus, senior citizens may also receive a free Christmas meal that may even be delivered. Children can get a small toy or their parents may receive a voucher that they can use to buy a present or clothing for their child. Other assistance is also available at holiday time, including referrals if needed.
