Broome, Chenango, and Tioga transitional housing.

Families struggling with paying their rent and facing homelessness in Broome, Tioga or Chenango County can explore short term shelters and transitional housing programs. Several resources are offered for those facing imminent eviction as well as residents that are currently homeless. Housing, case management, food, and social services are administered.

Each of these programs is intended to be short term, so participants need to commit to certain activities such as career counseling and job search programs. So families can stay in a Binghamton or Broome County transitional apartment or low income unit while they participate in those other activities.

The non-profits can also provide referrals or help individuals and families sign up for government aid. This can include section 8 vouchers, public housing, or even other programs such as free meals. Hundreds of members from the community benefits from these programs every year.
