Bread of Hope discount food boxes.

Consumers can save a significant amount of money by purchasing discounted food boxes from the Bread of Hope. The non-profit partners with churches in the central part of the country, including in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas, to distribute cheaper but high quality food to families. There are no income restrictions in place, no application fees, and no other requirements. Anyone can shop for the items.

Bread of Hope is able to pass savings on to people as they acquire the food, groceries, canned goods, and perishable items in bulk. So the service is similar to a buying club like Sam’s or Costco. In addition, they have volunteers and local churches who are also committed to helping the less fortunate. Those other groups may volunteer some of their time and the use of their facilities, which further reduces the cost of providing these food boxes to the general population.

The organization works with food wholesalers and companies to acquire the items. This allows them to provide large amounts of high-quality groceries across their entire service territory. Consumers can acquire the food cheaply, at sometimes up to 40% off the regular retail price. They work with charities and churches across Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and other states. These groups all work together and help one person and one family at a time.

As indicated, there are no restrictions in place. There are no pre-qualifications, membership fees, or income requirements. The food boxes are available regardless of a person’s income. It allows people to stretch their budgets and dollars and may in fact free up their money for other basic needs or bills. Bread of Hope can help cut household costs and help them save money without sacrificing the quality of the food and meals they eat.

The non-profit runs a bulk purchasing facility and they operate from central distribution points. This allows them to provide substantial savings to individuals, seniors, and families. The food boxes will only have top quality food and may include chicken, beef, seafood, sometimes pork, vegetables, fruit and more. The quality is top rate and the prices are cheap. People can expect to spend much less than you would expect to pay for the quality and quantity received. As noted, consumers can order them and then pick up the boxes at churches, outreach or community action programs, or sometimes even local companies.

There is a formal ordering process put into place by Bread of Hope. The food and meals need to be ordered before the monthly deadline. Pre-payment is required and some of the sites will also accept government assistance, such as SNAP food stamps, for a method of payment.

The items are shipped to the local churches or charities. This will occur on a pre-determined day each month. The individual will need to stop by that center to pick up their groceries. Goods will be freshly delivered, even if a special meal is bought.

Those local centers and churches are a key partner in this entire process. The resources they bring to the table allows additional savings to be passed on to shoppers. For example, by using a local church to provide the food boxes to the individual, this cuts back on expenses such as rent and other overhead. The bottom line is that Bread of Hope and other groups are doing whatever they can to provide cheap but qualify food to consumers. Better yet, there is no cost to sign up for the service.
